In the 90’s I started my career as an international HR manager for a university in the South of the Netherlands. In this position, I have worked with hundreds of expats and their families. Besides supporting the employee, I also supported their managers. Having expats in a team requires a lot more than the use of English. Moreover, with an international hire you do not just bring an employee, there is a lot more attached (spouse, kids and dreams of a new life). For a successful assignment, it’s good to keep that in mind.

My expert knowledge of expat management in academia & research did not stay unnoticed. Over the years I’ve received many consultancy requests from individual expats and their employers. From this demand, I started my consultancy firm.

Due to increased globalization, the demand for my services increased even more. In 2020, Julie joined, and ‘I’ became ‘WE’, and ‘WE’ became a team.

My personal experience as an expat in Italy and the Caribbean has drawn my interest to the support my father has been giving to expats over the years. I never realized how important it was to get expert advice after I had to miss-out on it myself. An international move can be such a valuable learning experience, especially if you don’t need to struggle through bureaucracy all by yourself. The social impact is already challenging enough.

In 2020 I have coordinated the professionalization process of our firm and I was responsible for constructing a platform from which we can organize our appointments, events, centralize forms and knowledge items on tax, social security, immigration and labor law.

We are honored with your interest in us and would be happy to assist you.
